Cast All Your Burden

In memory of September 11, 2001

The world is turning upside down           twin towers at sunset

With horror on the news each day;

And life is threatened all around,

And lightly cast away.

Mankind about me lives in sin;

His terror sometimes makes me fear,

Yet still I know the Lord’s within,

And the answer is so near.

     Refrain:

 Cast all your burden;

 black woman prayingCast all your burden upon the Lord.

  He shall never suffer;

  He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved,

  And He shall sustain thee;

 He feeleth your infirmity.

So cast all your burden;

Cast all your burden upon the Lord.

The daily pressures I must face       people walking fast in rain

Seem heavier than I can bear.

I cannot keep this hectic pace,

And have no time to spare.

Each day pours on me new demands,

And all my strength is gone from me.

I need to rest in God’s strong hands,

And let Him my fortress be.

Refrain:

  Cast all your burden;woman praying

  Cast all your burden upon the Lord.

  He shall never suffer;

  He shall never suffer the righteous to be moved,

And He shall sustain thee;

He feeleth your infirmity.

So cast all your burden;

Cast all your burden upon the Lord.

Sometimes I feel that no one cares    depressed young man

About my trials or my pain.

My deepest burdens no one shares

And on my heart remain.

I feel the hurt of others' sins,

And on my own I can’t forgive;

But Jesus Christ the victory wins,

When to Him my wounds I give.

Psalm 55:22 Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Hebrews 4:14-15 Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
